Introducing Debrah North

 While state and federal policies may be uncertain, strong local governance allows us to directly address our community's needs.

Debrah's mission is to ensure DeSoto stays a safe, well-governed, and vibrant community. 

Serving on Desoto's Zoning Board of Adjustments, and Building and Standards Board Chair, Debrah has made critical decisions that protect property values, uphold safety standards,  and zoning ordinance adjustments that help shape our neighborhoods. 

1. Economic and Infrastructure. Debrah believes that transit, zoning, and economic development planning are critical to DeSoto's growth and mobility.  Debrah will advocate for strategic growth that balances development with regional partnerships for long-term infrastructure improvements designed to support Desoto's growth and land use through 2050. 
2. Public Safety and Mental Health: Debrah believes that public safety teams should have the resources to operate efficiently. 
3. Building a Resilient Future through Local Decision-Making: Every resident voice matters.  Debrah will work towards promoting equity and business-friendly opportunities in the Desoto and D-FW regions. Debrah is committed to supporting committees, HOAs, and advisory boards that lend their expertise to create a resilient, prosperous community.  

As a Leadership Southwest and Leadership North Texas alumni, Debrah has a proven track record of effective leadership and collaboration. One of her notable achievements includes working with Desoto's Development Staff to create a gate access ordinance for new home construction.
